I am mainly a self-taught artist who enjoys several techniques in producing my work. I started painting with watercolor in the early 1980's, and I have painted several commissioned portraits of noted people. Graphite, colored pencils, and watercolor works are found in my studio. I was in a group of artists who met and studied under Donny Finley in the 1980's. My main focus is Watercolor. It is easy to begin a project, work for a time, and put it aside. Drawing and painting has been a life-long passion even though it was relegated to that of a hobby, due to my profession in Pharmacy. As I approach retirement, my plans are to pursue art to a much greater degree. Although my watercolors go in several different directions, portraiture may be my best genre in the medium. I have begun to exhibit my work and enter art shows. I am a member of the Watercolor Society of Alabama and have been the recipient of several recognitions.
