Artist Statement

I've been painting for about 22 years. I'm mostly self taught, but I have taken selected classes at Pacific Northwest College of Art and Marylhurst College, and have attended numerous painting workshops conducted by leading local and nationally known artists.  I also belong to a professional critique group which is a constant source of feedback and inspiration.

I've won several awards in shows and competitions, the most recent ones being Best of Show in the Columbian Artists Association Spring 2007 Show in Longview, WA and Third Place in the 2007 Artist Colony International Online Exhibition.  I've also earned signature membership status in the Northwest Watercolor Society and active (juried) memberships in two other northwest societies.  At present I am represented by three art galleries in Oregon and Washington.
