Hello, I am Jamie Childers-Rood I live in Florida with my husband &
my talented boy-girl twins. They are very supportive of my art & my
endeavors which makes it possible for me to keep moving forward. My painting life started early. I was inspired by my Mom & Dad &
by my Grandfather who painted himself. He sent me home one summer with a
handful of paint brushes & a love of art. Later I took a couple of
drawing classes at San Bernardino Jr. College in California. It wasn’t
until I moved to Florida did my real passion for art begin to develop.
The past 3 yrs I have been pursuing my talent on a regular basis. I
joined 3 art societies & I have truly enjoyed participating in shows. In
2006 I received 3rd. place with Jacksonville Coalition of
Visual arts, in 2007 I received an honorable mention with St. Augustine
Arts Association, also in 2007 I received a merit award with the
Jacksonville Watercolor Society. I also enjoy participating with the
Downtown Art Walk, & the new Jax. Beaches Art Walk.
