Kathy Butler takes great pleasure in
the beauty of nature and shares that enjoyment with the
viewer in her transparent watercolor paintings.
Presented in a
realistic style, using soft color tones, her work seems
to inspire a certain appreciation and enthusiasm in
those who view her paintings. She finds subjects in
her many travels as well as in local sites. She prefers
the watercolor medium because of its fresh quality and
unpredictability and feels it lends itself to portraying
nature. Although she has had no formal art training and
is largely self taught, she has taken many seminars.
She has developed her artistic style over a thirty six
year span of time and has received recognition for her
work in competitions over the years.
