Biography I was born and raised in Dothan, Alabama and spent 38 of my adult years working for the U.S. Government. After retiring in 1993, I moved to the small mountain town of Pagosa Springs, Colorado, and began to do what I'd always wanted to do--paint. While living there for three years, I studied with several notable Southwestern artists living in the area. It was there that I began selling my art and entering shows. In 1996, I moved back down south. I have continued my art, branching out from oils to watercolors and acrylics. Though I probably continue to use oils more than anything else, I love to experiment with different mediums and techniques. Just "creating" something is so much fun. I call myself "A Jill of all trades just having fun." I was very fortunate to have lived on the beautiful gulf coast of northwest Florida for 20 years and I love painting scenes from that area. My favorite technique is using a palette knife with oils. Using that method I am able to achieve interesting textures and color mixtures. I paint what I love--seascapes, sunsets, clouds, flowers, animals and abstracts--depicting my love of color and texture. It gives me great pleasure and self-satisfaction to create an image that someone will enjoy and take pleasure from viewing. My art can be seen in the Gulf Shores, Alabama area at the Orange Beach Art Center.
